Our First World obsessions. How did we get them? Picture-perfect homes. With fine decor, and all artistically arranged. I can’t help but wonder: How did we get this way?
The more I talk with people, the more I discover that many are dissatisfied with life. Either they don’t like the direction their life is going, or feel their life is directionless. And I think it’s because we sometimes lose track of what’s really important.
I’m fond of saying that Hubby and I should have received a financial stupidity award in our early marriage. Armed with credit cards and few brains, we shopped foolishly and extravagantly. Even buying a dog on credit!

Imagine returning home from a shopping trip to find your house leveled! That’s just what happened to a couple in Michigan. A demolition crew was given the wrong address, and all that remained of a grandmother’s old home was a cement slab.
Ever feel like time gets away from you, or am I the only one? Our past few months have been particular. Between our month-long stay in the USA, jetlag, and tending to special projects, I haven’t gotten much writing done.
We’ve had thieves strike. Twice. The first time real thieves, but the second were sort of fake thieves. As many of you know, we have a summer home. And in our absence thieves got in, taking our bedroom mirror and a small step ladder.
