We Always Leave a Testimony

Every day, regardless of where we are or what we’re doing, we are creating a testimony. EVEN IF NO ONE ELSE IS AROUND.

Now I realize that may sound strange, yet it’s true. Even when far from others, heaven is watching how we live, what we do, and what we say. And we’re building our heavenly portfolio, you might say.

So what testimony do we leave with others?

Do our words show Christ’s gentleness? Our actions display his love? Do others remember them and want to become like us? Want to spend time with us? Do we leave behind the sweet fragrance of Christ?

Or are they glad when we’ve gone, thankful they don’t have to put up with us any longer?

A good name is better than fine perfume; and the day of death better than the day of one’s birth.

Ecclesiastes 7:1 WEB

What testimonial fragrance are we creating day by day?

I think we’ve all known people who have touched our lives in profound ways. People we’ve known who were so close to Christ and so much like him that we longed to be like them. And longed to be near them. Just to soak up the atmosphere and learn some wisdom.

So as we live out our days, let’s try to leave that kind of fragrance. And keep in mind that we are always surrounded by an audience. For even when all alone, we still have an audience of One.

Let’s make him proud!

  1. As a stay at home mum with older teenagers such that I have been “staying home” more than I ever have, this is a great reminder and encouragement. Thank you! (Your FMF neighbour).

    1. Hello, neighbor! I have been a stay-at-home mom and wife for years, so I fully understand how you can relate to this. Sometimes it feels like I’m alone too much. But those are the times when I need to remember that God is always with me. And with you too! Be blessed!

    1. Thanks Gary. You are so right. I think we especially tend to forget God is with us during those mundane moments. It would surely change our lives a lot if we could but remember that we always have an audience of one.
